” Small Improvement, Big Impact “Switching to CIJ -Continuous Inkjet Printers from hand labeling
During the continuous improvement project, we discovered how a simple change in product labelling resulted in significant savings for a company. By replacing traditional labels with inkjet printers, the company achieved impressive cost reductions.
Labels were identified as a costly aspect of the company’s product marking process. Seeking efficiency and cost-effectiveness, the company aimed to find a better solution. The decision was made to implement inkjet printers for product labeling, eliminating the need for physical labels. This change streamlined operations and reduced expenses.
The switch to inkjet printers brought efficiency gains and substantial cost savings. Expenses related to label production, storage, and inventory management were significantly reduced. On-demand printing minimized waste and ensured accurate and timely labeling.
The adoption of inkjet printers yielded impressive results, with the company estimating annual savings of 500K.
This real-life case study demonstrates the impact of small changes on financial outcomes. The switch to inkjet printers for product labeling not only reduced costs but also enhanced efficiency and resource allocation. It serves as a reminder to continuously evaluate processes and seek opportunities for improvement to drive long-term success.
